{"id":6687,"date":"2026-06-01T22:39:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T02:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/duye.it.com\/?p=6687"},"modified":"2026-06-01T22:39:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T02:39:47","slug":"two-charged-after-man-fatally-stabbed-following-backpack-theft-in-livonia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/duye.it.com\/?p=6687","title":{"rendered":"Two Charged After Man Fatally Stabbed Following Backpack Theft in Livonia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two suspects have been charged after a 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Livonia following the theft of his backpack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Man found fatally stabbed in Livonia road, suspect in custody\" width=\"735\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b72fj_YTUFw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Wayne County Prosecutor\u2019s Office charged Spencer Krusell, 30, of Highland Park, and Scott Harrington, 26, of Taylor, in connection with the death of Nicholos \u201cNick\u201d Hatcher of Detroit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Livonia police said officers were called around 4:48 p.m. on May 28 to the area of Middlebelt Road and Orangelawn Street after reports of an unresponsive person. Officers found Hatcher suffering from a stab wound to the chest, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to family, Hatcher worked as a prep cook and was leaving his job to catch a bus to his second job in Detroit when someone stole his backpack. Hatcher followed them to a nearby location and confronted them. Prosecutors allege the confrontation escalated, and Krusell pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed Hatcher in the chest before fleeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Krusell is charged with second-degree murder and being a fourth-offense habitual offender. Harrington is charged with larceny in a building and receiving and concealing stolen property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said Krusell was on parole at the time of the stabbing. He was given no bond after being arraigned in 16th District Court.
